Corruption Vs Corrupt

These days I am hearing a lot about new Anti-Corruption helpline in Delhi (India). But being a "Devil's Advocate" I am thinking if this will change anything?

So here are my thoughts.
As any policy has short term and long term effects. No doubt that in short term this policy will work well.
But what about longterm?
This process clearly is focusing on punishing the people who take/ask for bribes.
What about the reason behind asking for that bribe?

I know no reason can justify a crime, but still on humanitarian grounds just think about a "Traffic Havaldar/Cop", does he get enough salary to give a good lifestyle to his family?
He is always in between cars, but can he buy one for his family from his salary?

My Point
I am not advocating any increase in salaries, as that also has never proved to be a good approach against human greed.
But what about handling it like any MNC.
I mean what if the penalty against any crime/default is increased exponentially, and a huge incentive for people catching them.

Just think it like this: A traffic cop catching a defaulter. The penalty is about 1000 INR, out of which 70% is given to him as "Good Job" incentive.

Now as a human, what would you like 700 INR of bribe (black money) or 700 INR of incentive (white money) of doing your duty.

PS: Same can be applied to different departments in different forms.

Who Owns The Moon?

Here goes another rover to Moon.
A news about Chinese Moon mission has forced me to think the consequence of this "Race to Moon".

Suppose we find minerals and other suff on moon, then who will have the ownership of that, or who will own the land if we are able to make it inhabitable.

Why this Race?
Have we made this earth a perfect place to live?
If not then why are we trying to search another place to spoil?

Inspirations in a Marathon

Just two days ago I ran my first "Half Marathon".
During the event I kept on thinking about how some people have better focus on running than others.
What inspires them to keep running even if they are tired.

I asked same question to few runners & got some interesting ideas/facts:
* One said she counts from 1 to 100 and stops (& starts walking) only after 5 x 100 and that too for next 100 counts (not more than that).
* Other said he focuses on guy ahead of him.
* Another said he was enjoying the nature and doesn't remember what inspired him.
* Personally, I felt foot steps of the guy approaching from behind, inspired me to run faster.

Whatever may be the inspiration, while summing up my experience, I realized that in a marathon every finisher is a winner and it does not matter if you win or loose.

That is why some people call it "The Endurance Run" where we test our own endurance.

Indian Economy

Recently an Indian Minister was criticized in media, for saying "I am happy about increased living cost in India, at least the farmers are earning more now."

At first it looked odd, but it triggered a radical thinking process within me.

India is (or at-least used to be) an Agriculture based Economy (agro-economy), but with changing time we are advancing towards being a Diverse Economy.

"Can that be a reason?"
In the past, we used to focus on agriculture and global slowdown/recession never effected us.
But now with this change in economic trend (from agro to diverse), we get effected by every damn thing (same as any European countries).

"Are we creating this imbalance ourselves?"
"Are we following European countries?"
"Will reverting back, help us?"

I don't know if that Minister had realized it or not, but this can be the point for us to understand the trends in Indian economy.

Recession

Once Again I hear people talking about "Global slow down" & "Recession".
But this time it also triggered some thoughts within me. The major one is a basic question:

"What the hell is Recession?"
As per the definition it is a general slowdown in economic activity, where income, profits and inflation falls, while bankruptcies and the unemployment rises.

BUT this also triggered another Question.

"Why the hell it happens?"
Let's try to evaluate: Won't it be right to say that, the money (as in currency) floating around is same (during or before recession). also the need to spend/buy is still the same.
"Then Why?"

"Is it like money moved from "many hands" to "one hand", which is scared of spending it and such scenario creates the sense of recession?"
OR
"Is it like, the over hyped market is getting back to what it deserved?"

What may be the answer, I am still not convinced with the traditional answers and am planning to dig even further.

In the Soup.

As trying to consolidate all my accounts under one roof, I tried migrating my blogs from Yahoo ID to Gmail ID.
But what a mess, I could only migrate the posts and not the profile data. I lost data like since when I have been blogging etc.

Hoping to get such feature in blogger.com which would allow to change Username OR the User ID without loosing blog stats.

Why am I confused?

How many times have you asked this question to yourself?
OR
How many times you have got stuck, while making a decision?

A confusion occurs:
* Due to lack of knowledge about the subject.
* If we have more than one choice in life and we don't know which one is best for us.
* Or a fear to loose/fail.
Believe me this third one is the biggest reason. But the most stupid of them all.

How to overcome this state?
* Talk
* Take a break
* Let it go.

How will these solve my problem?
* Most of us take our elders for granted and don't discuss our problems with them, thinking that "What do they know about our generation". And end up discussing it with our friends who have similar knowledge as we do, the only difference they make is that they give verdict with a confidence coz it doesn't effect them as it does to us. But friends believe me our elders/parents know this world better than us, they have far more experience than we think they have.
As a wise man said "They gave berth to us, not the other way round"

* Thinking over and over again about one thing makes us circle the same center. May be personal life or professional, if you are stuck and trying hard to come out of confusion, you will often find yourself thinking in same direction and getting more confused rather than coming out of it. The best solution @ this point of time is to take a break, Chill out, give your brain some air to breath. This break gives a new perspective to the whole scenario.
In my personal experience I have got exceptional ideas after this short sweet break.

* The biggest fear in our lives is of failure. But in this fear we forget that taking this failure positivly will lead us to a bigger success. But the key here is the positivity. In most cases this fear is of loosing someone we love, but why do we forget that true love is not about getting, it is about letting go, it is about the happiness of the person you love and not the other way round. In professional life it is all about a stupid ego that we have. We do small small things to satisfy this ego of ours and miss seeing the bigger picture, which would lead us to the "Top of the Game".
Browse Google for the most successful people, you will find onle one common thing in them, they are humble and don't have ego in them.

As one of my dearest friend says "Life is beautiful!", we just need to change the perspective.
